Today, I will talk to you about how to use the TMS320C6748 development board, many people may not know much about it. In order to make you understand better, the editor has summarized the following contents for you. I hope you can get something according to this article.

Brief introduction of the development board:

This development board is based on TI TMS320C6748 fixed-point / floating-point DSP C674x processor with a main frequency of 456MHz, and integrates DSP interfaces such as uPP, EMIFA, SATA, USB 2.0 OTG and so on, which can be used with FPGA/CPLD. Overall, it is also used to quickly evaluate the overall performance of SOM-TL6748 core boards.

Preparation before development:

First of all, you need to test the development board hardware.

Connect the UART2 of the development board to the PC.

Note:

If there is no special instructions in the experiment, the default is to use UART2 as the debug serial port.

If there is no special description of the experiment, it means that the Guangzhou Chuanglong OMAPL138/C6748 series development board supports the corresponding experiment.

Guangzhou Chuanglong OMAPL138/C6748 series development boards share this user manual. Due to the differences in hardware resources between different development boards, some experiments need to be completed on specific development boards.

If the UART2 of the development board is the DB9 interface, please connect the RS232 serial port cable to the USB interface of the PC through the USB to serial port transfer line. The DB9 female (with hole) at the other end of the RS232 serial port line is connected to the UART2 interface of the development board. If the UART2 of the development board is a MicroUSB interface, please plug the MicroUSB data line into the USB interface of the PC, and the other end is connected to the UART2 interface of the development board.

After ensuring that the USB to serial port driver has been installed normally, the driver can be found in the tools directory, or you can use Master Lu to scan and install the driver.

The COM port of PC debugging terminal is set, and the baud rate is 115200cm8N1, and there is no test bit.

It is recommended to use ZOC serial port to debug terminal software. there is ZOC installation package zoc602.zip in the tools directory of OMAPL138/TMS320C6748 CD. For installation method, please refer to the user manual TMS320C6748 related software installation steps of ZOC software installation.

If you are using ZOC, click "Options- > Jumpto- > Devices" in the menu ZOC bar, and then select "Serial/Modem". Scan in "Serial/Modem" and select COM port, baud rate is 115200jig8N1, no check bit, "RTS signal off", "DTR signal off", other options are set by default.

Then click Save to complete the setting of the serial terminal. Power off the development board, and then dial the dial switch no. 1x5 of the development board to 00101 ON,0 1 for OFF, this gear is UART2 startup mode, Boot pin configuration instructions please see Appendix 1. Then power up the development board, and see the BOOTME message in the serial debugging terminal, which means that the hardware of the development board is normal and the USB serial driver has been installed correctly, as shown in the following figure (pictures from other blogs of the author, interested people can also communicate):

For the common startup modes of the development board, the dialing switch 1 / 5 is as follows:

NAND FLASH:01110

MMC/SD0:00111

UART1:11101

UART2:00101

SPI1 FLASH:00110

DEBUG:01111

Remarks: 1 is ON,0 and OFF.

1. Check whether the simulator driver is installed properly.

Power off the development board, set the dial switch to DEBUG mode: 01111, connect the simulator and the development board, and insert the USB port of the simulator into the computer USB slot, and power on the development board. Right-click the computer icon and click "device-> Universal Serial bus Controller" or "device-> Port (COM and LPT)" to see if the corresponding emulator option appears. If there is a description that the emulator driver has been installed normally, otherwise, please install CCS correctly first. For installation method, please refer to the user manual TMS320C6748 related software installation steps of CCS software installation.
