Earlier this year, Sony announced that some of its high-end TVs would add support for Apple's AirPlay 2 and HomeKit protocols. Now, Sony is bringing this support to more televisions.

According to MacRumors, the update will apply to A9F and Z9F models in 2018, as well as A9G, Z9G, X950G and X850G TVs in Canada and Latin America in 2019.

AirPlay 2 will allow users to play content directly from their iPhone, iPad, or Mac. With the support of HomeKit, users will be able to control their compatible televisions using Siri or home applications.

We have noticed that this update integrates Apple's technology with the Android TV platform when AirPlay 2 and HomeKit launch on Sony Z9G Series 8K LCD, A9G Series OLED and X950K LCD TVs. It can't be achieved without technical reasons, but it's still interesting.
