This article mainly introduces the meaning of LilyPad and LilyPad Simple in Arduino. It is very detailed and has a certain reference value. Friends who are interested must finish it!

Introduction to LilyPad and LilyPad Simple

LilyPad and LilyPad Simple are the two main variants of LilyPad microcontroller board. They are at the heart of the book, so before we start using it, we should get a general idea of what it does.

LilyPad

The LilyPad is a small wearable CPU that can be sewn to the fabric to control other peripherals through wires, such as the input and output module we introduced earlier. The core of LilyPad is the ATmega328V microcontroller (the square in the middle of the board), around which all our work is carried out.

The LilyPad has 22 ports that surround the board in the shape of petals. Two of the ports are power supplies (+ and -). The other 20 ports can be used to control various peripherals. The 20 ports are 0x13 and A0~A5, respectively. Where:

Ports 0 and 1 can be taken as serial communication ports

All 20 ports can be used as digital input and output ports

A0~A5 port has analog input function

Ports 3, 5, 6, 9, 10, and 11 have PWM output capabilities.

Port 13 is connected to an onboard LED, as shown in figure 1.30.

Figure 1.30 onboard LED figure 1.31 six-pin socket

The six-pin socket above the board is used to connect the programmer to program the board, as shown in figure 1.31.

We will introduce the special functions of these ports in actual use, so we will not elaborate on them here.

LilyPad Simple

As can be seen from the name, LilyPad Simple is a simplified version of LilyPad, and its simplification is reflected in the port. It leads to only 11 ports. Apart from the power supply, there are only nine left, which are 5, 6, 9, 10, 11 and A2~A5. Their functions are exactly the same as those of LilyPad.

Of course, LilyPad Simple reduces the output port, but adds a power outlet that can directly use the external power supply of the corresponding specification, as shown in figure 1.32.
