Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
In this issue, the editor will bring you about how to find wireless file transfer options in Windows 10. The article is rich in content and analyzes and describes for you from a professional point of view. I hope you can get something after reading this article.
Sharing files between devices is one of those things that seem so simple but often painful. If it is impractical in your current situation to transfer files in the usual way, there are several different ways to use windows 10 to perform wireless file transfers. In this article, I'll show you two different methods of file transfer. Neither of these methods works in all cases, but overall, they should address most file transfer requirements.
Wireless file transfer using Bluetooth
Windows 10 already includes native Bluetooth file transfer capabilities. The advantage of using this method for wireless file transfer is that it can span device types and operating systems. For example, at the time of this writing, I used this method to transfer files between windows 10 PC and my smartphone. The disadvantage of using this technology is that it requires Bluetooth pairing between the source device and the target device.
In windows 10, you can pair Bluetooth devices by clicking the start button and then clicking the settings icon. Once in the settings window, click on the device, and then click on Bluetooth and other devices. Now, click the add Bluetooth or other device link, and then select the Bluetooth option, as shown in the following figure.
After a few seconds, your windows 10 PC should detect the device you are pairing. Simply click Connect, as shown in the following figure, to establish a Bluetooth connection between devices.
Once the two devices are paired, you can use Bluetooth to transfer files. To do this, go to Settings, then click Devices, and then click Bluetooth and other devices. Next, click the link to send or receive files via Bluetooth, as shown in the following figure.
At this point, Windows will launch the Bluetooth File transfer Wizard. The initial screen of the wizard asks if you want to send or receive files, as shown in the following figure. Click the send File option, and then click next.
The wizard will now ask you where you want to send the file. Select the target device from the list of paired devices, as shown below. In this case, I am sending files from Windows PC to my smartphone.
Click next and you will be prompted to specify the file to send, as shown in the following figure. Make a selection, and then click next.
At this point, the file transfer begins, as shown in the following figure.
It is worth noting that the file must be accepted on the paired device in order to transfer successfully. The method of doing this varies depending on the type of target device. For example, on my smartphone, I received a pop-up message asking if I wanted to accept shared files. You can see what it looks like in the picture below.
Nearby sharing
In the April 2018 windows 10 update, Microsoft introduced a new wireless file transfer feature called "nearby sharing". Like the Bluetooth file transfer function, the "share nearby" feature allows you to transfer files between two PC that are close to each other. The advantage of using this feature is that it does not require Bluetooth pairing between two devices. However, the disadvantage is that nearby sharing is only available for windows 10, so you will not be able to use it to transfer files to and from other devices. In the notes, Nearby Sharing can use Bluetooth or WiFi and is similar to Apple's AirDrop.
To get started, the * * thing you need to do is enable the Nearby Sharing feature. To do this, go to Settings, then click system, and then click share experience. Now, turn on the Nearby Sharing option, as shown in the following figure. Nearby sharing must be enabled on both the source and target devices.
When you see the image above, there are two things worth paying attention to. First, once enabled, nearby sharing defaults to sharing content with any nearby device, but you can limit it to sharing content only with your own device. Another thing to note is the path where the shared file will be saved.
Once nearby sharing is enabled, sharing content between PC is not so easy. You can simply right-click the file you want to share and choose share from the shortcut menu. Typically, the sharing option prompts you to share files using files such as email or OneNote. If configured, it also gives you the option to share files with your contacts. However, once nearby sharing is enabled, Windows also gives you the choice to share the selected files to nearby devices. For example, in the picture below, you can see that the share window gives me the option to share files to a Surface Book 2 device. If I click on the device (called Posey-Surface in the screenshot), a prompt appears on my Surface Book asking if I want to accept the file shared with me. There's nothing to it.
Advantages and disadvantages
Bluetooth file transfer and nearby sharing are not applicable in any situation. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages. However, in general, these two technologies should meet most of your requirements for wireless file transfer and file sharing. Even so, if you find that native Windows file sharing does not fully meet your needs, numerous third-party tools are available for wireless file transfer.
The above is the editor for you to share how to find wireless file transfer options in Windows 10, if you happen to have similar doubts, you might as well refer to the above analysis to understand. If you want to know more about it, you are welcome to follow the industry information channel.
