If not, right-click in the "0" folder to create a new ShowSubmitButtonRightOfSearchBox, and then create a new DWORD (32-bit) file named Value and modify the value. If you want to delete the button, set the value to "0".

Then close the Registry Editor and restart the Explorer to take effect.

Make Cortana's welcome words more interesting.

The default welcome phrase for Cortana is "enter what you want to search here". If you want to change or delete this sentence, you can also modify the registry.

Open the Registry Editor and navigate to:

Double-click to open the Value file on the right to modify the welcome words. If you want to delete this sentence, replace it with a space.

Change the transparency of Cortana search boxes and text

In addition to modifying the default welcome copy, Cortana's search box and text transparency can be set. You can make the search box translucent or you can "hide" it completely.

In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following two locations, and if you cannot, create a SearchBoxTransparencyBackground file entry:

After creating the file, create a new DWORD (32-bit) value named Value in the folder, double-click to open it, select the cardinality as decimal, and then type the desired transparency on the numeric data (value range: 0mm 100):

60 = translucent

100 = opaque

If you want to change it to the default setting, delete the newly created folder or change the values to the default value of 60 or 100, restart Explorer will take effect.

Similarly, if you want to change to the default setting, delete the newly created folder or change the value to the default value of 80, restart Explorer will take effect.

Change the security search settings for Cortana
