III. Executing OpenSUSE Installation

1) Restart the machine and select Start from USB flash drive

2) The openSuSE installer runs automatically, and after initialization is complete, it will prompt that it can only be installed manually. After confirmation, install according to the prompt of installation program.

3) When prompted to choose the source medium, select network, and then select HTTP. Then follow the prompts to set the appropriate options.

4) Enter the address where the Server is installed: download. openSuSE. org. Next enter the path to the installation source: /distribution/10.3/repo/oss

5) When the Loading Installation System appears, wait patiently. After about ten minutes, the usual graphical interface installer will appear.

6) Follow the prompts to complete the subsequent installation. From here on, installation is the same as via CD.

IV. OTHER NOTES

1) The installer may install GRUB into the MBR of the USB drive. If this happens, press the C key to enter the GRUB command line and reset GRUB when entering the GRUB boot menu after installing and restarting the machine.

2) If the machine does not support booting from a USB flash drive, you can copy linux and initrd to the hard disk, set the bootload of the machine, add startup items, and boot the installation from the hard disk.
