The rumored Apple AR glasses have been kept strictly secret, but a recent leak revealed the most information we have ever seen. The glasses, which will be named "Apple glasses", will retail for about $500, according to Jon prosser of Front Page Technology. If you need prescription lenses, they will be more expensive.

The release date of Apple's AR specification is everywhere. When rumors surfaced about the glasses in 2016, there were anonymous sources that the glasses would be released in 2018. That never happened. As a result, Tim Cook says, virtual reality will be as powerful as a smartphone.

Earlier last year, Guo Mingzhi, a reliable Apple analyst, predicted that the glasses would be in mass production in the fourth quarter of 2019 and be launched this year. In November, a leaked internal report said that one ar headset was expected to go on sale in 2022 and another glasses would be available in 2023.

Prosser doesn't know when the phone will be released, but he speculates that the phone may be released at the same time as iPhone 12 this year. According to prosser sources, Cupertino wants the release of Apple glasses to be "another matter", which means it wants the media to be there. Therefore, due to the distance guidelines, this disclosure may be postponed to the first quarter of 2021.

Still, this is much earlier than the 2023 release date reported last year. Keep in mind, however, that this is just an unveiling date. The release of the product is not expected to be earlier than the fourth quarter of 2021 or the first quarter of 2022, bringing it closer to the latest report.

The data processing of Apple glasses will depend on iPhone, which should be expected when the price is $500. The onboard processor not only increases the unit cost, but also increases the volume. Apple's goal is a set of glasses, not headphones, so it makes sense to deal with them separately, especially first-generation products.

Prosser claims to have seen a video of the prototype of Apple glasses. For legal reasons, he could not share the video, but he said it looked like a pair of ordinary glasses. There are rumors that they look like masks (pictured above), but the test pair do not look alike at all. Note, however, that the final design may vary greatly.

Other features include a lidar sensor on the right, wireless charging, a UI called starboard, and gesture control. The prototype doesn't have a camera, probably for privacy reasons. Prosser was also told that there was no color option because the monitor did not work properly in dark lenses.

Remember, none of this information is shared directly by Apple, so you know how to use salt. If what Prosser said is true, we should not wait too long to get official approval. However, as these things develop, anything can be changed.
