When we finish installing GNS3, there is no analog hardware configuration router and firewall. When you click on the desired hardware option, the system will indicate that there is no hardware and we need to install it ourselves. This article shows the GNS3 router image installation.

Click the top left Edit option and select the bottom Preferences option

After entering, click the IOS routers option and click new to start the new project.

Select the directory where IOS is located to add files, and click next.

Prompt to change the name and module, which can be changed according to your own requirements.

Change the business veneer page. There is a network cable interface on the business veneer. Choose according to your own needs.

Expansion mode, no change is recommended

In the last step of installation, you will be prompted to enter the Idle-PC value, click finish, and then you can get an optimal value through system calculation. If it is not calculated, the CPU occupancy rate of the computer will be very large.

Go back to the main interface and drag to select two routers, click the network cable to connect the two routers and start. When you open the computer's task process, you will find that the computer's CPU occupancy rate is very high. At this time, you need to calculate the Idle-PC value. Right-click to select the de router and there is an Idle-PC option to click.

At this time, the system will calculate the Idle-PC value, select the best option with *, click OK to complete, and then open the computer task manager to find that the CPU occupancy rate has decreased significantly, thus completing the installation of the IOS image.
