Network security should not be taken lightly, especially all the personal information on our devices. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is a good way to keep your account secure, but someone seems to have found a solution to this problem.

In fact, the words around you may not be correct. A new report from security consulting firm ThreatFabric (via ZDNet) reveals some worrying trends in malware development.

The most striking thing is that the Cerberus Bank Trojan horse is upgraded from the founder. The malware now has a RAT (remote access Trojan) feature that unlocks a set of "features" for those who choose to use it.

Hackers can use RAT to record the user's unlocked credentials, whether in PIN or sliding mode. But that's not all. Now even Google Authenticator's 2FA code can be crawled by malware. Google Validator is a popular tool that allows users to easily add additional security layers.

Attackers can fully use the victim's mobile phone and get anything they want from it. Usually, the goal is to access the person's online bank and transfer the money to his own account.

Trojans can even set up TeamViewer links so that hackers can easily operate without using the victim's phone, the report said. This means that text messages, social media accounts and photos are also made public.

According to ThreadFabric, the advanced Trojan is still under development because "ads for these features have not yet been posted in underground forums", but it may soon be ready to be taken away by elements around the world.

Of course, understanding malware may be the first step in preventing a successful attack. We are sure that Android and app developers are already taking steps. That's why you shouldn't skip installing security updates!
