RHEL and CentOS distributions:

First check to see if it is installed

Yum install cmake gcc gcc-c++ libaio libaio-devel automake autoconf\

Bison libtool ncurses-devel libgcrypt-devel libev-devel libcurl-devel

If prompted by No package libev-devel available. You may need to manually install it yourself (root user):

Wget http://dist.schmorp.de/libev/libev-4.15.tar.gz

Tar zxvf libev-4.15.tar.gz

Cd libev-4.15

. / configure

Make & & make install

Ubuntu distribution:

You can also run:

Apt-get install build-essential flex bison automake autoconf\

Libtool cmake libaio-dev mysql-client libncurses-dev zlib1g-dev\

Libgcrypt11-dev libev-dev libcurl4-gnutls-dev

Then compile with CMake:

Cmake-DBUILD_CONFIG=xtrabackup_release-DWITH_MAN_PAGES=OFF & & make-J4

Installation:

Make install

It will be installed into / usr/local/xtrabackup by default.

The common tools are / usr/local/xtrabackup/bin/innobackupex / usr/local/xtrabackup/bin/xtrabackup
