NBNS scanning tool nbtscan-unixwiz

NBNS is an acronym for NetBIOS Name Service and stands for NetBIOS name resolution service. NETBIOS is a network protocol for message communication and resource sharing. Using this service, the computer name can be obtained based on the NETBIOS protocol, thus the shared resources can be further judged. Kali Linux provides a special tool, nbtscan-unixwiz. It can scan single or multiple computer names or IP addresses directly, and then search for open file sharing services.

This assignment:

(1) use the following command to scan all file shares on the network segment.

Nbtscan-unixwiz-f 192.168.0.0Universe 24
