Over the years, flexible smartphones have been one of the biggest innovations in the mobile industry. Consumers are more and more interested in technology. Devices with flexible screens need more time to be available to the public. Competition among manufacturers is expected to speed up the process.

It's only a matter of time before flexible smartphones are as expensive as traditional smartphones, which is why more and more manufacturers are developing new types of devices. Chinese brands such as Oppo and Vivo are expected to launch flexible smartphones soon, and Google sees the future of the Pixel line in this market segment.

Pocket-Lint says it doesn't even plan to wait until early next year and will launch a flexible Pixel smartphone by the end of 2021. Sources close to component suppliers say Google will use OLED displays and UTG glass in its first device designed with the Pixel series.

Google's first flexible smartphone will feature a design similar to that of Galaxy Z Fold 3. This means that the screen folds inward, but allows the device to expand into a larger touchscreen display. The resolution of the internal and external monitors and other technical specifications are not clear.

Android 12 also contains references to devices codenamed "Passport". This is expected to be the first flexible Pixel name. One strange detail is that Google is testing another device called Slider. This may be a device with winding display. Such a model is unlikely to be available before the second half of this year.

It seems that the flexible Pixel can be sold in time for the holiday season at the end of 2021.
