From November 4th to 6th, open source users and contributors from all over the world gathered at the Shanghai World Expo Center for the 2019 OpenStack Open Source Infrastructure Summit.

It is said that tens of thousands of people came to attend the meeting, and the three major operators of China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom, Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba and other big companies all showed up at the summit, as well as many well-known domestic cloud computing companies. conduct in-depth exchanges with community developers from around the world on the development and application of open source infrastructure.

The feature of this summit is that it is not a traditional technology show, product exhibition or vendor-led event, but is driven by the open source community and users.

Divided by user use cases, the Summit has set up more than 100 conferences and seminars, including artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), continuous Integration and deployment (CI/CD), Container Infrastructure, Edge Computing, Network function Virtualization (NFV), Public and Security, Private and Multi-Cloud Strategy, making it "the largest open source event for cloud computing in the world".

In the Keynotes session of the conference, Jonathan Bryce, executive director of the OpenStack Foundation, shared this year's market data. According to the market monitoring report of 451 research institutions, the market share of the Asia-Pacific region is expected to grow by 36% in the next four years, accounting for 1/3 of the global market share in 2023.

As an open source project to support multi-cloud networks, Tungsten Fabric also made a high-frequency appearance at this summit. Tungsten Fabric users and commercial companies from home and abroad have come to the summit, including CERN (European Atomic Energy Research Agency), Shenzhen Securities Communications Co., Ltd., Huayun data and so on. Commercial companies including Juniper Network and Mirantis also attended the summit.

At this exhibition, Huayun data announced their Tungsten Fabric-based SDN product ArSDN, which realizes the unified management and choreography of OpenStack, K8s and VMware networks, and has been integrated into Huayun's cloud management platform.

As a representative of the Tungsten Fabric international community, Juniper Network Outstanding engineer Sukhdev Kapur,CodiLime SDN & NFV Engineering Director, Cloud-native and Krzysztof Kajkowski, head of multi-cloud solution delivery, shared Tungsten Fabric's latest docking mechanism based on Neutron ML2 Plugin, which brings greater flexibility to the docking of OpenStack and Tungsten Fabric, and enables users to interconnect and communicate on multi-vendor architectures based on Tungsten Fabric and OpenStack environments.

This is the first open source infrastructure summit held by the OpenStack Foundation in China, and the hot atmosphere at the scene is encouraging, which also makes the world feel the rapid development of China's cloud computing market and the enthusiasm of the Chinese open source community.

Take OpenStack as an example, regardless of the market prospect, the number of users, or the scale of application research and development, the Chinese market has been ranked alongside the United States as the two most important markets. In the latest Train version of OpenStack, the development contribution of the Chinese participating community is also the second largest in the world after the United States.

More Chinese power is emerging not only in the OpenStack community, but also in open source communities around the world, including Tungsten Fabric.
