This article introduces the relevant knowledge of "how to use UNetBootin to make CentOS USB installation disk". In the operation of actual cases, many people will encounter such a dilemma, so let the editor lead you to learn how to deal with these situations. I hope you can read it carefully and be able to achieve something!
Making USB installation disk of CentOS with UNetBootin
It is said that someone is willing to sponsor me more than 300 yuan to make a campus Linux server, this price is enough for a second-hand host, just put it together!
Go to Gangding on Tuesday afternoon to have a look at the secondhand goods and put a CentOS installation file on my USB drive so that you can test the USB installation system at the store.
After many twists and turns, the USB installation disk of CentOS was finally made. I use the Minimal version of CentOS6.0 iso installation file, write to USB disk using UNetBootin this tool.
The specific steps are as follows:
1. Install UNetBootin
Root@xiaoxia-pc:~# apt-get install unetbootin
2. Download the CentOS image file
I like to install the basic system first and then install the software online to keep the system lean, so I use the smaller minimal version. I downloaded it from NetEase's source, and users of Education Network can download it from the Education Network site.
3. Format USB flash drive
When I made the CentOS installation disk for the first time, I did not expect that the installation would not look for an image from the USB disk. There was only cdrom, hard drive, nfs and there was no usb, so the installation could not be carried out.
The solution is to partition the usb so that the system recognizes the usb media as a hard drive.
After inserting the flash drive, view the device file of the flash drive.

Format the USB disk and use fdisk to partition the USB disk.
