How to use the registry or group policy to open or close security issues in Windows 10, many novices are not very clear about this, in order to help you solve this problem, the following small series will explain in detail for everyone, people who have this need can come to learn, I hope you can gain something.

Microsoft has enabled a feature in Windows 10 that users must use to answer some security questions if they want to reset their local user account passwords. This feature certainly brings some security against illegal logins. But sometimes, some people may get annoyed because it takes longer to create a new local user account. We've learned how to skip security questions when setting up local user accounts in Win10 and how to disable security questions in Win10 using PowerShell scripts. Today, we'll learn how to turn security issues on or off using Windows Registry or Group Policy.

Turn security questions on or off in Windows 10

We'll look at two methods that will show us how to turn security issues on or off on Windows 10-

--Use Registry Editor.

--Use Group Policy Editor.

Before we get started, I recommend that you create a system restore point.

1. using Registry Editor

Click the WINKEY + R button combination to launch the Run utility, type regedit and press Enter. After the Registry Editor opens, navigate to the following key-

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\System

Now, right-click on the right panel and click New> DWORD (32-bit) Value.

Set the name of this newly created DWORD to NoLocalPasswordResetQuestions.

Double-click the newly created DWORD and set its value to 1 which disables security questions.

A value of 0 disables security questions.

Exit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

2. Using the Group Policy Editor

Click the WINKEY + R button combination to launch the Run utility, type gpedit.msc and press Enter. Once the Group Policy Editor opens, navigate to the following settings-

Computer Configuration> Administrative Templates> Windows Components> Credentials User Interface

Now double-click Prevent security issues for local accounts on the right panel and set the radio button to Enabled.

If this policy setting is enabled, local users will not be able to set and reset their passwords using security questions.

This will close the security issue. Setting the radio button to disabled or not configured turns on security questions.

Exit Group Policy Editor, and then restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
