Basic course of protel99se

1. Start Protel 99SE

Usually enter directly from the desktop shortcut, double-click the icon, or programmatically through the start menu. The interface is shown in figure 1-1. There are four drop-down menu options in the menu bar: the downward arrow menu, the Files file menu, the View view menu, and the Help help menu.

2. Software system parameter setting

The first thing after Protel 99 SE runs, you must adjust the parameter settings, otherwise the font problem will cause the description characters in the interface to be displayed incompletely and affect the normal use.

A, interface font setting

Through the drop-down menu command in the upper left corner of the main interface of Protel 99SE, the menu shown in figure 1-2 appears after clicking, and choose to execute Preferences. 3. Menu bar introduction

A, Files: three commands pop up when you click, which are

 1) New- creates a new blank database with the file name suffix. ddb

 2) Open- opens an existing file

 3) Exit- exits Protel 99 SE.

B, View: view options, with three options to choose from. They are the Design Manager, the status bar and the command line. For the opening and closing of the corresponding function.

 2) the Status Bar- status bar is on and off

3) Command Status- command line opens and closes.

C, Help: used to open the corresponding help file.

4. Toolbars, status bars, and command line

The Protel 99SE toolbar has three options, as shown in figure 1-7. They are part of the commands in the menu bar.

The status bar and the command line are used in the lower left to indicate the current working status or the command being executed. The top is the status bar, and the bottom is the command line

5. Create a new design file

Create a design project using the menu command File/New Design. After clicking, the dialog box shown in figure 1-9 pops up:

There are two windows, one of which can select the storage type of the file through the drop-down button, as shown in figure 1-10, there are two storage types. The default is the direct database type, which is more commonly used; the other is to save the database file as a normal windows folder. The other window is the database file name, which is automatically named with the default name of MyDesignX and the suffix .ddb. Where X is the natural number 0, 1, 2, 3. It is automatically generated in order, omitting this item when it is 0. You can also rename it yourself as needed, such as LiDesign, 040620401, etc. The location of the file or database can be saved by clicking Browse. Button to make changes. Click OK.
