Shulou(Shulou.com)05/31 Report--

Samsung's upcoming flagship SoC-Exynos 2100 could power its entire Galaxy S21 line of smartphones in Europe and South Asia. While Samsung phones based on Exynos chipsets in the past have generally shown worse performance than Qualcomm models, that may not be the case if we want to see the latest coverage.

Recently, people on GSMArena shared screenshots released by popular leaker IceUniverse, showing that the upcoming Exynos 2100 SoC is not only comparable to the Snapdragon 888 in performance, but may even surpass it!

As can be seen from the tweets below, the Exynos 2100 SoC scored 1089 points in Geekbench's single-core test and 3963 points in the multi-core test.

This score is impressive, surpassing Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 points and reaching 1135 points and 3794 points in the Mi 11 's single and multi-core tests, respectively.

Interestingly, the theoretical test also showed a significant improvement compared to the previous Geekbench test, which scored 1006 and 3059 points for the same processor.

In other words, Samsung's upcoming high-end processor is a force to be reckoned with, which is good news for European consumers who may not be able to use the Snapdragon 888 version on paper.

I say on paper that because benchmarks don't have actual tests to back them up, it doesn't make much sense. At best, they provide an imperfect reading grid to understand smartphone behavior away from classic and purpose-specific performance scenarios.

I personally hope Samsung can solve the chronic thermal throttling problem, which is still the main problem on Exynos chips. What I'm saying is that these benchmarks, which can only be done in a few minutes, don't tell us about the thermal performance of the CPU under load.

That said, these scores are encouraging signs for Samsung, which has lagged behind ARM-based CPU technology for the past few years.
