Management towards integration
Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms can better manage data center power environments. Emerson Network Power introduced Trellis DCIM solutions in May 2012, which provide asset management, change planning, energy efficiency management, site management, power system management and mobility applications to help customers better manage critical power equipment and IT infrastructure. Emerson Network Power refrigeration equipment and systems are now seamlessly integrated into the Trellis DCIM management platform, with real-time monitoring and air-conditioning linkage capabilities. Emerson Network Power devices also support industry open standard protocols such as Modbus and SNMP, and can be integrated with third-party DCIM and monitoring systems. Emerson Network Power will launch Trellis version 3.0 in spring 2014, which includes a more comprehensive refrigeration system management module that supports CFD dynamic modeling, real-time analysis of potential data center hot spots, and dynamic refrigeration adjustment capabilities to achieve data center thermal balance.
DCIM emphasizes joint management of IT infrastructure and power equipment. Its unified platform can solve the problem of data island existing in multi-management system of data center. The unified interface also simplifies the management of data center, and can be integrated with upper IT business system through Web API.
