-F: force fsck disk check after the system is rebooted

-c: cancel the contents of the shutdown command that is already in progress

Example: shutdown-h 10

"turn it off in 10 minutes."

Shutdown-r now

Restart immediately

Shutdown-k now 'this system will reboot'

Only a warning message is issued and the system will not shut down
