1. View the current control file

Select * from v$controlfile

2. Close the database

$srvctl stop database-d devdb-o immediate

3. Boot to nomount status

$srvctl start database-d devdb-o nomount

4. Copy control files

$rman target /

Restore controlfile to'+ DATA/devdb/controlfile/current.01' from'+ DATA/devdb/controlfile/current.256.875626521'

5. Change database parameters

$sqlplus "/ as sysdba"

Sql > alter system set control_files='+DATA/devdb/controlfile/current.01','+DATA/devdb/controlfile/current.256.875626521' scope=spfile

6. Close the database

$srvctl stop database-d devdb-o immediate

7. Open the database

$srvctl start database-d devdb
