Process Explorer can answer the following questions:

Which program opens a specific file or directory?

Which dll belongs to which project?

Is there malware in the system disguised as a legitimate process?

Process Explorer has three windows, two of which are displayed all the time. The top window always displays a list of currently active processes. The added or deleted information is displayed in this window, right-click the title bar and select which columns you want to view, as shown in figure 1.

Process Monitor

Process Monitor displays the registry and process line activities on the system in real time.

Unlike Process Explorer,Process Monitor, which can capture log file information for further analysis, it can answer the following questions:

Is there something wrong with the Windows registry entry in the startup options?

When does a particular program access my registry and which process?

Which external file system is connected to the PC?

What threads and processes are being created on my computer?

What is happening to my computer network?

Autoruns

Autoruns details the add-ins when Windows starts

Autoruns can enhance software debugging, showing all autorun programs, services, registration codes, and any other Windows desktop project you can imagine, as shown in the screenshot above.

Contig

Contig allows you to reorganize specific files. As you may see, disk reassembly often misses some files, so Contig provides a way to ensure that all files are defragmented.

Desktops

Is a tool that can schedule specific projects on specific virtual desktops. Perhaps even more novel, it can also increase productivity or prove useful in other ways, depending on the needs of the organization (such as in manufacturing or telephone booths).

NotMyFault

This can come in handy in elastic testing, forensic analysis, or other tests you can think of through intentional suspension or memory leaks that cause the Windows system to crash.

RAMMap allows IT administrators to determine how physical memory is used, including caching of data and drivers. This tool supports Windows Vista and later, and if you need to ensure more memory for your workstation, this tool is probably what you need. VolumeID

Useful for diagnosing problems that may be related to disk image backup and recovery, or other issues such as software licensing and system volume ID enrollment.

Just like what happens when a network analyzer can provide this perspective at a network protocol level, Sysinternals can reveal a variety of magical activities behind the Windows computer screen. When you load tools such as Process Monitor or Autoruns, you realize how complex the Windows operating system is.
