What is the difference between ISSN journals and CN journals?

When submitting academic papers, the choice of journals is particularly important. What kind of journals to choose has become one of the problems that researchers often have. Classification numbers and issue numbers are separated by "/", and the classification of journals is divided according to the basic categories of Chinese Library Classification (4th Edition). For example, the publication number of Chinese Journal of Tropical Medicine in Hainan Province is CN46 -1064/R, where 46 is the regional code of Hainan Province, 1064 is the serial number of journals in Hainan Province, and the classification number R indicates that the journal is a medical journal. At present, according to the actual number of periodical publications in China, except Beijing, the serial numbers of periodicals in other regions are between 1000 and 1999.

The maximum value of the above code is 65, and we usually see "CN98-XXXX" journals, which are definitely illegal journals.

8. After the official journal changes its name, the original domestic unified serial publication number will be invalid and will cease to be used. Therefore, there are also some illegal journals that use the discontinued publication number to publish. Such cases should be further verified with the local press and publications administration. 9. It is difficult to identify illegal journals published by stealing the number of official journals. Before submitting papers, you can log in "China Knowledge Network"(www.cnki.net) to consult "China Journal Full-text Database" and check the journal name and its issue number (mainly CN issue number).

10. Excluding the possibility that illegal journals are included in this database, the most authoritative one at present is to log on to "China Journalist Network", which is sponsored by ×××. There is a "media inquiry" column at the bottom left of the homepage of the website. Enter the name you want to inquire and select the category. Those with records are official journals.
