Editor to share with you how to install Visual Studio 2005 SP1, I believe most people do not know much about it, so share this article for your reference, I hope you can learn a lot after reading this article, let's go to know it!

I believe anyone who has installed Visual Studio 2005 knows that installing it is a long process, but Microsoft's release of the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 patch is no less than it. I once wasted an afternoon in order to install these two things. It was a time killer. Fortunately, Heath Stewart provides us with a way to integrate SP1, which allows us to save a lot of time during the installation process. Let's briefly introduce this method.

First of all, you have to determine if you have more than 4G of hard disk space, and then have the Visual Studio installation CD or image and patch for Visual Studio 2005 SP1 ready to work on.

1. Release VS2005, assuming that "J:" is your optical drive letter, "F:\ VS2005\ vs" is your release path, and "F:\ VS2005\ install.log" is the log path msiexec.exe / a J:\ vs\ vs_setup.msi TARGETDIR=F:\ VS2005\ vs / L*vx F:\ VS2005\ install.log, where J:\ vs\ vs_setup.msi J: is my optical drive letter. This directory is the path of the VS2005 installation file on my CD. TARGETDIR = F:\ VS2005\ vs this is the location you want to extract. I specified the F:\ VS2005\ vs directory, about 5 minutes, extracted 3.11G files. (it was only 2.38G when I did it myself.)

two。 Release the SP1 patch. Similarly, the drive letter and path here are assumed, and you can modify them according to your needs.

F:\ VS80sp1-KB926604-X86-CHS.exe / extract "F:\ VS2005\ SP1\"

F:\ VS2005\ SP1\ is the directory I unzipped. Extract a VS80sp1-KB926604-X86-CHS.msp file, note that it is suffixed with msp.

3. Integrated SP1 patch

Msiexec.exe / a F:\ VS2005\ vs\ vs_setup.msi / p "F:\ VS2005\ SP1\ VS80sp1-KB926604-X86-CHS.msp" / L*vx F:\ VS2005\ patch.log

It should be noted that these steps take a lot of time to complete, and it is personally recommended to make a batch file so that you can do your own business as long as the batch file is executed. after about an hour (this time is determined by the strength of the machine) and then come back to see the results. The following is the batch command I wrote, saved as the suffix "bat": msiexec.exe / a J:\ vs\ vs_setup.msi TARGETDIR=F:\ VS2005\ vs / L*vx F:\ VS2005\ install.log F:\ VS80sp1-KB926604-X86-CHS.exe / extract "F:\ VS2005\ SP1\" msiexec.exe / a F:\ VS2005\ vs\ vs_setup.msi / p "F:\ VS2005\ SP1\ VS80sp1-KB926604-X86-CHS.msp" / L*vx F:\ VS2005\ patch.log

4. Copy the installation components.

After the patch, copy the other files in your VS installation directory (the installation directory refers to the installation files of the CD, such as mine is J:\ VS\) to F:\ VS2005\ vs. However, do not overwrite any files, and there is no need to copy the .cab package. I actually unzipped the contents of cab and applied the patch in the * step.

However, there is a problem that must be paid attention to, that is, when prompted to have duplicate files, do not overwrite, but should ignore, otherwise all previous efforts will be wasted!

5. In order to save the step of entering the serial number for later installation, open "j:\ vs\ setup\ setup.sdb" with a text editor and add: [Product Key] XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX here XX.. It's your serial number. There's no "-".

6. If you don't want to integrate MSDN, you can use any burning software to carve it into a CD for use. But one thing to remember is that the label must be changed to "DVD1", otherwise you can't use it and don't look for me!

7. If you still want to integrate MSDN of *, then you can create a new "MSDN" folder in "f:\ vsts" instead of copying the "MSDN" folder of the original installation CD in the 4th patch, and then copy all the files in the MSDN image you downloaded to this file!
