Prepare and configure Launcher

Next, you need to prepare a Launcher server. The so-called Launcher is a machine with virtual desktop clients such as View Client or Citrix Receiver. In the final test phase, multiple View Client will be opened simultaneously through scripts on one or more Launcher servers, and log in to the virtual desktop with the previously created AD user to run the relevant load.

As shown in the following figure: running the 20 VDI sessions simultaneously on this Launcher

Configure a Windows7 computer named launcher and join the domain, preferably above 2CPU 4GRAM

And install the corresponding version of Client on the machine. In this example, it is the stress test of View, so Horizon Client is installed.

If SSL is configured in the View environment, you also need to configure the SSL certificate on the Launcher machine, or configure "do not verify server authentication" directly.

It is best to log in to a desktop with any LoginVSI account on the Launcher machine to see if you can successfully connect to the virtual desktop.

Add Luancher-v4 to the local administrator of the machine because the Luancher-v4 user needs remote desktops to the Launcher machine at a later stage

Allow remote desktops and configure firewalls

Go back to the LoginVSI interface, click Launcher in the left column, and click add launcher below

In the test environment, whether it is a single Launcher or multiple Launcher, in this experiment, because there are only 20 User in the test license, so choosing a single Luancher can meet the demand. (that is to say, 20 desktops will be logged on to this Launcher machine at the same time.) if the scale of the test is relatively large, it is recommended to prepare several more Launcher systems according to the same steps. For example, when stress testing is conducted with 100 points, you can prepare 5 such Launcher systems, each hosting 20 desktop connection sessions.

Enter the hostname Launcher of the above Windows 7 desktop. Note that FQDN format (Launcher.vDesktop.cn) cannot be filled in hostname, only pure hostname format Launcher can be entered.

When the configuration is complete, right-click MSTSC to remotely access the Launcher system and log in as the Launcher-v4 user. Make sure you can reach the Launcher host remotely.

The next Data Server, Web Servers and Content library can be kept by default.

The previously created VSIShare is automatically detected in the Date Server column.

The Web Server column is also automatically detected and does not need to be set. In the Login VSI stress test, there will be a test to open a web page. These pages are not actually accessed online through the Internet, but directly open the downloaded offline pages in the _ VSI_WebSites in the VSIShare shared folder.

Content library also keeps the default.
