Shulou(Shulou.com)06/03 Report--
This article will explain in detail how to bind subdirectories to the website. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it for you as a reference. I hope you can get something after reading this article.
To figure out what this means, you need to know what a subdirectory is, and what is a subdirectory? In fact, the subdirectory is relative to the root directory of your site. When you log in to the space with FTP software, you will first see that there are generally three folders, as shown below:
The first "log" folder in the image above is used to store website logs, such as the visiting logs of search engines and the running logs of websites. Some virtual hosts provide log viewing function, and there will be log files in it, while some spaces do not support log viewing, so it will be empty. The second "private_data" folder is generally used to store website data, for the average individual webmaster, this folder does not need to worry about the use of very little; and the last "public_html" folder is the most important, this is what we call the site root directory, due to different providers, some local root directories will be named "wwwroot", "web" and so on.
No matter what the name is, it is generally clear at a glance that any directory similar to web, html, www, root and so on is the root directory, and the files of all websites must be uploaded to the root directory. If uploaded to other folders, the website will not be able to open.
Now that you know the root directory, the subdirectory is the directory on the root directory, that is, all the folders on the root directory are subdirectories. So, to bind a subdirectory is to bind the domain name to any folder on the root directory, making this folder a separate site. If a space supports one subdirectory, it means that the root directory can be a website, and the subdirectory can also be a website, which means that one space can make two independent websites; if two subdirectories are supported, three websites can be made.
Let's talk about the method of subdirectory binding:
1) first create a folder under the root directory, which will be used when binding, and store the file contents of the subdirectory website in this directory.
2) Log in to the console (control panel), and select: self-help Management-CVM Management-Operation Management-* * subdirectory binding * *, as shown in figure 1:
3) bind domain name: enter the domain name you want to access this directory (this domain name must be resolved to this server), such as bbs.abc.com; subdirectory name: enter the name of the subdirectory folder created in step 1, as shown in figure 2
Note: the subdirectory you want to bind must first create this folder with FTP, otherwise you will not be able to bind!
4) next, click "specify the resources available in this directory". The total resources are calculated at 100%, and the resources are allocated to this directory, and the specific allocation can be set according to your own needs, as shown in figure 3.
At this point, the binding subdirectory is complete. As long as the domain name is resolved to the host, then the website can be opened. The method of resolution is the same as that to the root directory. We will not talk about it here. If you will not resolve it, please see the previous article.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of binding subdirectories?
1) the space size is shared with the main website. Before the total space is used up, it is unrestricted and convenient to manage.
2) the number of IIS links is distributed proportionally among the bound websites.
3) if a bandwidth limit is set, the bandwidth is also allocated proportionally among the bound sites.
4), sites bound with subdirectories all share an application pool with the main site. For example, the total resources of a station are as follows: limit 1m per second, IIS limit 100s; now bind a subdirectory, the resources allocated to the subdirectories is 40%, then the allocated situation is: the total directory is limited to 600K per second, IIS60, the subdirectories are limited to 400K per second, and the IIS is 40. Therefore, the resource allocation should be adjusted reasonably according to the traffic of each station. Otherwise, the station will be slow, binding too many subdirectories, the station will be very slow.
