Yesterday we reported that the iPhone 4S model does not support 64-bit applications, which has attracted a lot of attention from users and developers, and Apple explained this.

The first thing to know is how limited iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, iPad 2, 3, 4, and mini install applications under iOS 9. Simply put, they are abandoned by 64-bit applications, but the process is automated and you can't see it.

Apple said that previously iOS apps might contain both 32-bit and 64-bit apps, but after their apps were sliced, the applications used by the corresponding models changed.

In other words, iPhone 5C runs only 32-bit systems (both CPU and GPU are 32-bit), so all 64-bit binaries in the application are removed, leaving only 32-bit code (2x iPhone and OpenGL graphics code).

Of course, for systems with 64-bit processors and running 64-bit, such as iPhone 5S and iPad Air, there are only 64-bit applications.
