Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article introduces the Fedora Core 5 boot hard disk installation boot method, the content is very detailed, interested friends can refer to, hope to be helpful to you.
Fedora Core 5 is still quite commonly used, so I studied Fedora Core 5 and shared it with you here. I hope it will be useful to you. My machine has two hard drives, both 80g, one for sata and the other for IDE. XP is installed on the hard drive of the sata, and the other one is empty.
Download Grub for Dos from this address, version 0.41: http://sarovar.org/download.php/861/grub_for_dos-0.4.1.zip is installed on XP. After the installation is completed, a hidden folder boot and a hidden file grldr will be generated under C:\ disk, and the hidden file boot.ini under C:\ will be rewritten. This file is also a XP system boot information file, and its * * line will be added: C:\ grldr= "*", in which the content of * can be changed at will.
First, boot Fedora Core 5 hard disk installation
Extract vmlinuz and initrd.img from the isolinux directory of * ISO files in Fedora Core 5 and put them in a FAT32 partition of XP (must be a FAT32 partition). Rewrite the menu.lst file in the boot folder and write the boot information. This is what I wrote.
Timeout 10 title Fedora Core 5 install kernel (hd0,6) / vmlinuz initrd (hd0,6) / initrd.img
All right, we're ready to guide. When I installed it here, Fedora Core 5 treated sata's hard drive as hd, so the root directory above was written as (hd0,6). Put the four ISO files of Fedora Core 5 in a FAT32 partition.
Choose not to install the bootloader during installation, otherwise MBR will be rewritten. Complete the installation.
Second, boot start
Boot after installation can not directly enter Fedora Core 5, menu.lst should be rewritten into the appearance of startup. That is, for grub to find the kernel of Fedora Core 5, with the kernel, everything will be OK!
To rewrite menu.lst, mine goes like this:
Timeout 0 title Fedora Core 5 kernel (hd1,0) / boot/vmlinuz-2.6.17-1.2187_Fedora Core 5smp ro root=LABEL=/ rhgb quiet initrd (hd1,0) / boot/initrd-2.6.17-1.2187_Fedora Core 5smp.img
I used timeout 0 above because I only installed one linux system, so I don't have to choose, just enter it directly. If you can't remember the version number and folder name of the vmlinuz-* and initrd-* files, it doesn't matter, grub will tell you there is an error and press any key to continue when you start linux, and just press any key to enter the command line above.
Select the wrong line and press the "e" key to edit it. When editing, you can use the "TAB" key to complete it, which is easy to use. When linux starts, quickly go to the / boot directory to find the correct names of the vmlinuz-* and initrd-* files used, copy them down, and change the menu.lst file in XP. The next time you want to reinstall XP, just back up the boot folder, boot.ini, and grldr files under C:, copy it back after the XP installation is complete, and restore the multi-boot menu.
/ / find the image file installation
1. Code:
Title Ubuntu 8.04 LiveCD root (hd0,3) kernel / vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/Ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso quiet splash ro locale=zh_CN.UTF-8 initrd / initrd.gz boot
two。 Code:
Title Install Ubuntu find-- set-root / ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso kernel / vmlinuz boot=casper iso-scan/filename=/ubuntu-8.04-desktop-i386.iso initrd / initrd.gz boot
Guide the installation of Linux through GRUB (including WINGRUB) command line mode; when starting up, wait for the GRUB screen to come out, press c key to enter command line mode; if you are using WINGRUB, there is also this mode, press c key, the reason is one
In both Linux and Windows, GRUB has a command line function, which is extremely useful, not only to boot the system, but also to repair the system, and to boot and install Linux
For example: for example, we put vmlinz and initrd.img in the Fedora Core 5 directory in / dev/hda2; what about the command line for GRUB?
Grub > kernel (hd0,1) / Fedora Core 5/vmlinuz grub > initrd (hd0,1) / Fedora Core 5/initrd.img grub > boot
If you put it directly under the / dev/hda3 partition and don't put it in any directory, how should you write it?
Grub > kernel (hd0,2) / vmlinuz grub > initrd (hd0,2) / initrd.img grub > boot on the Fedora Core 5 boot hard disk installation boot method is shared here, I hope the above content can be of some help to you, can learn more knowledge.
