Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--

Friends in pursuit of efficiency need a convenient quick start tool. RunZ, Listary, ALTRun, Launchy, Wox of keyboard stream and Fences, Rolan, WinLaunch of icon stream are available on Win platform, while Alfred and Spotlight are also available on Mac.

For quick launch tools, the most basic requirements are generally as follows:

The utility model has the advantages of small size, low resource occupation and high speed, and it is best to run non-resident. The project is still maintained and there are feedback channels. It is scalable and supports easy expansion of functions with scripts.

But for Windows systems, what can't be ignored is the Win+R function that comes with the system (don't you know that? Then try it quickly. Let's put aside these software and see how this "artifact" can improve the efficiency of its use.

Win + R run window

Win+R (start menu > run) is a native feature of Windows that comes with everything from XP to Windows 10. When the user presses the shortcut key "Win+R" (Win is the Windows icon key on the keyboard), the system will pop up a small window for you to enter the command, enter and immediately execute the command and close your own window. It does not reside in the background, does not occupy memory and is extremely fast, so many experts use Win+R to transform into their own quick startup tools!

Talking very strongly, what on earth can WIN+R do? Let's take a look at its magic.

Quickly start the system program

Are you still worrying about a desktop shortcut? Are you still worrying about finding a shortcut to software? Are you still worrying about choosing desktop cleaning tools? Whether or not.

It's so easy to open the software, but it brings us a lot of trouble. we have to take the effort to identify different shortcut icons, and when the icon is accidentally deleted, we have to look for it in the installation directory, start menu, etc. (of course, you can try to use Win+F to find it better), but it takes a lot of time, and how much effort will it take if you want to open multiple software?

In peacetime, the most frequently used Win+R should be to open the cmd.exe command prompt. Have you ever used it to open other system applications?

Let's take a look at the commands that Win+R uses to launch the system application:

So how can programs that are not included in the system start quickly?

Start the application quickly

Create a shortcut storage directory

First, create a new folder to store shortcuts to quick-start programs, anywhere:

Here, create a new folder WinR, which is used to store shortcuts.

Configure environment variables

Add the directory of the newly created folder to the environment variable, as shown in the figure:

Ps: here you can configure a single application to the environment variable path, so that you can enter the name of the application after opening the run window through Win+R for quick access. For example, configure cmder.exe to the environment variable:

This allows you to quickly open Cmder through Win+R:

However, this is not configured here, because this configuration will lead to too much content in the path, which may easily lead to some problems, and it is too troublesome to add one by one, so configure the folder path here, and then achieve quick access through shortcuts.

Note: when configuring environment variables, note that colons, slashes and seal numbers in the path are all entered in English half-width.

Place a shortcut

Put the software shortcuts into the "WinR" directory and give the shortcuts an easy-to-remember name (something you can remember).

As shown in the picture above, "ali" = "Alibaba client", "aqy" = "iqiyi player", "gc" = "google chrome browser", and so on, the shortcut key name can be easily memorized.

Quick start demo

If you open a chrome browser, you can quickly open it by typing "gc"

Note: when Win+R accesses shortcuts, English names are case-insensitive, that is, gc and GC have the same effect.

Quickly open files / directories

Sometimes if you want to find a file, are you still struggling to find more than one directory of a key card? Do you feel helpless because you often repeat into the same directory? Then you can try the Win+R method.

If you know the directory of a file, or want to quickly enter a directory, for example, we will often enter the system32 directory

Do something, so don't click on the files one by one, just do this:

Here you can set shortcuts to quickly enter a directory or open a file, just as you can quickly open an application.

First, go to the shortcut to store the directory WinR, right-click in the blank space, and create a new shortcut:

The location of the object typed here can be an application, file, directory, script, web page, and so on. What is added here is the directory address, which is used to quickly enter the directory. The settings for the Quick launch file are similar.

Of course, to quickly enter the directory, you can quickly enter the specified path directly by entering the address in the Win+R run window. Such as: c:/WinR

Other applications quickly access the specified site Win+R run window and directly enter the site URL

By setting up shortcuts

Quick execution of batch scripts

Win+R run window direct input

By setting up shortcuts

Perform command tasks, such as the ping command

Of course, in order to improve the efficiency of the use of the Win system, the necessary shortcut keys, we should still know, about the windows shortcut keys, take a look at the Microsoft official website ~: [Windows keyboard shortcuts] [15]

Enhanced version of WIN+R-nTrun

Of course, if you think that the Win+R running window is not powerful or convenient enough, you can try the software nTrun (formerly known as Win+R Adde), which can easily help you customize the Win+R function, and check more content on the official nTrun website https://www.ntrun.com.

On the Quick start of Win8/8.1/10

Using Win8 and above, you can obviously find that the boot speed is better than that of Win7 and XP. This is because the system adds a quick startup setting, so where is this setting?

In the lower right corner of the system taskbar, click the battery icon and the following options appear:

Select more power options, and the following power options window pops up:

Select the function item of the Select Power button, and you will enter the following system settings window:

In this window, you can see the option of "enable Quick start (recommended)" in the "shutdown Settings" at the bottom. It is checked here to indicate that the Quick start setting for the system is turned on. If you want to turn off Quick start, you can select the option above to change the settings that are currently not available.
