Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
Today, I will talk to you about the experience of installing Intel AHCI drivers in XP systems. Many people may not know much about it. In order to make you understand better, the editor has summarized the following for you. I hope you can get something according to this article.
Install the MAC system on the PC, for the new Intel chipset computer motherboard, it is usually necessary to switch the SATA from IDE mode to AHCI mode in BIOS, otherwise there will be a prohibition sign when entering the MAC system.
But then there will be a problem. If AHCI is turned on in BIOS, the blue screen will be displayed when you enter the XP system, so you must turn off AHCI before entering the XP system (there is no such problem in the Win7 system). It is really troublesome to switch AHCI on and off again and again.
The usual solution is to install an AHCI-free Kext in the MAC system. I've tried this, but it doesn't seem to work on my H55 motherboard, and the prohibition sign still appears.
Only let XP accept AHCI and find a way to install the AHCI driver on XP. In fact, it is worthwhile to do so. It is said that AHCI can improve the read and write speed of hard disk by 30%.
The Intel AHCI driver for the XP system is ready-made and can be downloaded from the Intel website, called Intel Matrix Storage Manager (combined Storage Administrator), at http://downloadcenter.intel.com/. Y&DwnldID=17882
But the installation of this driver is not simple, running this program in XP will prompt you that it does not meet the installation conditions and the installation fails, and if you open AHCI in BIOS, you will not be able to enter the system.
To this end, I found some experience about XP installing AHCI on the Internet, such as the method of modifying the registry and borrowing the SATA connector of JMicron, but many attempts were unsuccessful. Later, I came across a method to force the installation of AHCI drivers, and it was finally settled.
Here is how the XP system forces the installation of AHCI drivers: (take H55 motherboard as an example)
1. Open a DOS command window and enter the following command to extract the downloaded Intel AHCI driver.
IATA89ENU.exe-a
2. Enter the device manager, see 2 SATA controllers, select 4Port Serial ATA Controller, right-click, and select "Update driver" from the drop-down menu (do not select 2Port)
3. Do not update the search through Windows
4. Install from a list or a specified location
5. Don't search. I choose the driver to install by myself
6. Install from disk
7. Browse the hard drive and select the folder you extracted previously,\ Program Files\ Intel\ Intel Matrix Storage Manager\ driver (or driver64).
8. OK, install from disk, select Intel PCH SATA AHCI Controller
9. Agree to the warning and click OK
10. Driver update completed, restart
11. Enter BIOS and set SATA to ahci mode
12. Save the settings, restart the computer again, and you can enter the XP system normally.
13. After entering the system, run Intel Matrix Storage Manager again to do a complete installation.
Add: the method of modifying the registry (did not succeed at the beginning, but now know that it should also be feasible, you can try)
1. Copy the IaStor.sys in the extracted driver folder to\ Windows\ System32\ drivers\
2. Open notepad. For the motherboard of H55, copy the following contents to notepad, and then save as H55.reg
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ ControlSet001\ Control\ CriticalDeviceDatabase\ pci#VEN_8086&DEV_3B22&CC_0106]
"Service" = "iaStor"
"ClassGUID" = "{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ iaStor]
"Type" = dword:00000001
"Start" = dword:00000000
"Group" = "SCSI miniport"
"ErrorControl" = dword:00000001
"ImagePath" = "system32\\ drivers\\ iaStor.sys"
"tag" = dword:00000019
"DisplayName" = "Intel AHCI Controller"
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ iaStor\ Parameters]
"queuePriorityEnable" = dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ iaStor\ Enum]
"0" = "PCI\\ VEN_8086&DEV_3B22&SUBSYS_B0051458&REV_02\\ 3&13c0b0c5&0&FA"
"Count" = dword:00000001
"NextInstance" = dword:00000001
3. Run H55.reg to add information to the registry
Restart the computer, enter BIOS, and change it to AHCI
For other Intel motherboards, just change the two VEN_8086&DEV_3B22 above according to the Nanqiao chip model, as follows:
VEN_8086&DEV_2681 = "Intel (R) ESB2 SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_27C1 = "Intel (R) ICH7R/DH SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_27C5 = "Intel (R) ICH7M/MDH SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_2821 = "Intel (R) ICH8R/DH/DO SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_2829 = "Intel (R) ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_2922 = "Intel (R) ICH9R/DO/DH SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_2929 = "Intel (R) ICH9M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_3A02 = "Intel (R) ICH10D/DO SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_3A22 = "Intel (R) ICH10R SATA AHCI Controller"
VEN_8086&DEV_3B29 = "Intel (R) PCHM SATA AHCI Controller 4 Port"
VEN_8086&DEV_3B2F = "Intel (R) PCHM SATA AHCI Controller 6 Port"
VEN_8086&DEV_3B22 = "Intel (R) PCH SATA AHCI Controller"
In comparison, it feels better to be the first way.
