How to do load balancing with multiple outside lines with the same operator? In this article, we introduced how to do load balancing when there are multiple external lines (the same operator). In practical use, the external lines of many users are from different operators (such as a telecom and a mobile). For most users, how to do load balancing with multiple external lines of the same operator? The scheme in can produce the effect of multi-line superposition. However, the direct balance of multiple external lines of different operators is not the optimal solution, mainly because of DNS: "if a terminal DNS queries a domain name, it obtains the IP; of operator A, but in the process of subsequent access, it will be balanced to operator B, which is not optimized enough." The solution mainly involves two technologies:

Operator shunt, according to the destination IP to automatically select the operator line (that is, telecom IP take telecom line, mobile IP take mobile line).

DNS redirection, configuring DNS redirection rules to set the client's default DNS (which also indirectly determines the client's line).

1. Operator diversion

WFilter NGF (WSG) has a built-in "operator triage" strategy, which is based on the IP segment of each major operator. As shown in the figure below, click the status flag to enable this "operator triage" policy.

When this policy is enabled, WFilter automatically detects the operator of each WAN port and automatically triages the operator.

2. DNS redirection

The client's DNS configuration may be manually specified by the client, or it may be assigned by DHCP. In order for the client to set up a reasonable DNS, you can turn on DNS forwarding in the DNS Settings of WFilter NGF. Let different clients use different DNS (naturally, they can go to different operators). As shown below:

3. Open line detection

After the line detection is turned on, the unobstructed condition of the line can be detected automatically. Once the line is blocked, it will not participate in equalization.

Generally speaking, when different operators are multi-line, because of DNS, load balancing should not be carried out directly, and the way of policy routing is more reasonable.
