1. What is domain name resolution?

Domain name resolution is the process of translating domain names to IP addresses. The IP address is the digital address that identifies your site on the network. For ease of remembering, use the domain name instead of the ip address to identify the site address. The domain name resolution is done by the DNS server.

2. What is the difference between universal domain name resolution and domain name resolution?

Pan-domain name resolution is: *. The domain name is resolved to the same IP (this IP must be a stand-alone IP).

Domain name resolution is: sub-domain name. The domain name is resolved to the same IP.

Note: the pan-domain name is meaningful only if the customer's space is a separate IP. There is no such requirement for domain name resolution.

3. Why is there a decimal point after the MX record? is it wrong?

It is correct to add a dot at the end of the MX record.

MX is the mail exchange record, which exists in the DNS file of the domain name. It is used to direct the email at the end of a post office domain name to the corresponding mail server for processing. The setting method is as follows:

After the customer logs in to the member center of the website-> Click "Domain name Management"-> Select the relevant domain name-> Click "manage"-> Log in "Domain name Resolution" to enter the settings interface. The RR bar can be empty or sub-domain name, select the MX-MX record, enter the host name or IP address, and click the add button.

Note: the MX record requires a dot at the end of the hostname or IP address, otherwise the record will not take effect. If you submit it without a dot, our system will add it automatically.
