Note: these parameter values are not case-sensitive, do not distinguish between single and double quotation marks, and can even be used without quotation marks.

TYPE: profile interface type. There are a variety of network configuration files in the / etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ directory, including Ethernet, IPsec and other types, and the network interface type is Ethernet.

DEVICE: network interface name

BOOTPROTO: system Boot address Protocol

None: do not use startup address protocol

Bootp:BOOTP protocol

Dhcp:DHCP dynamic address Protocol

Static: static address protocol

ONBOOT: whether the system is activated at startup

Yes: activate this network interface when the system starts up

No: this network interface is not activated when the system starts up

IPADDR:IP address

NETMASK: subnet mask

GATEWAY: gateway addr

BROADCAST: broadcast addr

Configuration takes effect

In order to make the network configuration permanent, the network interface configuration file under / etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ is modified in the second part. However, these documents cannot take effect immediately after they have been modified. There are two ways to make the network configuration of the modified file take effect:

1) execute the service network restart command to restart the network service (recommended)

# service network restart

2) restart the computer

# reboot
