First, we open the Group Policy console to create a new group policy, named KSLX_SCCMAgentForKS, which will be applied to the KS site, deploy clients for computers belonging to the KS site, edit our new group policy, navigate to "computer configuration"-"Administrative templates", right-click the administrative templates, and then click "add / remove templates".

Next we will see a pop-up window, where we click add. Here we need to add two Group Policy template files in the SCCM installation package, which are stored in the SMSSETUP- "TOOLS-" ConfigMgrADMTemplates of the SCCM installation file. Find these two template files and add them to the current Group Policy template.

After the template has been successfully added, we expand the administrative template and we can see that there is a new option "Classic Administrative template". When we expand its child, we can see that there are two configuration options for SCCM client installation in the panel on the right.

Next, we need to configure these two options, first configure Site Assignment, enable this configuration, and then fill in the site assigned by the client. Because I have installed the secondary site, we need to fill in the site code KS1 of the secondary site. Other values can be kept by default.

Configure Deployment Setting. After enabling this configuration, we need to enter some specific parameters to specify some configuration information for the client, CCMSETUP.EXE SMSSITECODE=AUTO SMSMP=KS5P-SCCM-S01.

SMSSITECODE assigns the client to the site, we can specify the site code, or we can directly set it to AUTO, and let the client choose the nearest site, but it should be noted here that if we have a SCCM site set up on internet, we cannot use AUTO, we need to specify the site code manually. SMSMP is the initialization management point assigned to the client, from which the client will obtain the policy and application of SCCM

After configuring the above two options, we need to add the deployment installation file for the client to the group policy. First, we need to copy the ccmsetup.msi file from the installation file of SCCM to a shared directory (the path of the ccmsetup.msi file is under SMSSETUP\ BIN\ I386). The shared directory must open the read permission of everyone, but if all the clients you deploy are computers with added domains. There is no need to set up a shared directory to store the file. I copied the file directly to the Script file in the SYSVOL folder of AD. This directory is open for domain account reading by default. Next, we configure the deployment of the installation package in the group policy, expand "Policy"-"Software Settings"-"Software installation" in the computer configuration, and right-click to select New package. Then find the ccmsetup.msi file we put in script, select the assigned deployment method, and click OK

After all the configuration is completed, we mount the group policy to the corresponding site. In addition, we can configure the filtering of WMI to install selectively according to the requirements. For example, here I use the WMI filter to restrict the policy to be implemented only on win7,win8,win10 clients, so the policy will not be implemented on any server version of the operating system.
