IBM announced today that it will no longer limit Watson-branded artificial intelligence services to its own cloud computing services, but will allow other companies to use and run the platform in their own data centers, according to US technology media TechCrunch. Pryor also stressed that many companies have long wanted to improve operational efficiency through artificial intelligence, but need to run artificial intelligence tools in an environment where they can control and feel comfortable. IBM also announced today the launch of a new version of the Watson Machine Learning Accelerator to introduce high-performance GPU clusters to Power System and x86 systems, promising to accelerate artificial intelligence performance up to 10 times faster.
