Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
It is believed that many inexperienced people do not know what to do about how resource managers in Windows 10 can access Linux files directly. Therefore, this paper summarizes the causes and solutions of the problems. Through this article, I hope you can solve this problem.
Although Windows and Linux seem to be two opposing systems, they have been trying to communicate with each other. For example, in Microsoft, Windows 10 has previously added a WSL Linux subsystem, and will continue to improve and upgrade.
Starting with the update of Windows 10 v1903 in April this year, Windows 10 will add a new skill to access files on Linux systems directly in the default File Explorer.
The way is simple: run your Linux distribution, navigate to the home directory, and type the command "explorer.exe." (note that there is a space), which opens an explorer window and navigates to the Linux system files directory.
Here, you can perform a variety of familiar operations as you would under Windows, including dragging files between different folders, copying and pasting, using the right-click menu, and even opening VSCode.
Linux files accessed in this way will be placed in a virtual directory called "\ wsl$\", where running_distro_name is the name of the currently running Linux distribution, such as Ubuntu, Debian, and so on.
In addition, WLS is a command-line tool, so the above functions can also be used in command-line mode by embedding the "\\ wsl$\ {distro_name}\" command with the same meaning as above.
Microsoft said that in order to access Linux files under Windows, a 9p protocol server was specially added to the WLS initialization process, which contains protocols that support Linux metadata, including permissions, and the Windows system communicates with the 9p server through special services and drivers as clients through AF-UNIX socket.
A few points to pay attention to:
1. Currently, Windows 10 can access Linux files only if the Windows distribution is running, and this restriction will be lifted in the future.
2. Access Linux files in this way, just like accessing network resources, the rules are the same, for example, you can't use CMD commands.
3. Other Linux file-related rules still apply, such as not trying to access the AppData folder.
After reading the above, have you mastered how the resource manager in Windows 10 can access the Linux file directly? If you want to learn more skills or want to know more about it, you are welcome to follow the industry information channel, thank you for reading!
