Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--

Today, I sorted out the data and found a patrol fault I encountered a few years ago, so I took it out to make a record to avoid the loss of data. First, the alarm phenomenon:

1: 6509 main engine SYSTEM turns on red light

The line integration board on the back of the 2: 6509 chassis lights up red.

Second, the equipment hardware indicator light level analysis:

Cisco's official description of several situations in which the system lights on the main engine:

Green-All chassis environmental monitors are reporting OK.

Orange-The power supply hasfailed or the power supply fan hasfailed.

Red-Incompatible power supplies are installed. (abnormal power supply)

-The redundant clock has failed. (redundant clock exception)

-One VTT1 module has failed or the VTT module temperature minorthreshold has been exceeded2. (an VTT module exception, or a VTT module temperature exception)

-Two VTT modules fail or the VTT module temperature major thresholdhas been exceeded3. (two VTT modules are abnormal, or temperature is abnormal)

-The temperature of the supervisor engine major threshold has beenexceeded (abnormal engine temperature)

Third, the equipment system alarm level analysis:

6509 there are the following alarms:

Environmental alarms:

System minor alarm on operating VTT count (raised 18w1d ago)

System minor alarm on VTT 2 OK (raised18w1d ago)

Fourth, equipment system level analysis:

View the 6509 hardware status with the following status description:

VTT 2:

VTT 2 OK: not OK

VTT 2 outlettemperature: 29C

It shows that the detection state of VTT2 module system is not normal.

VTT: voltage terminal module for Catalyst switching bus. If there is no redundant Supervisor engine installed and the VTT module is in a slightly or severely overheated state, the system will shut down. There are three voltage regulators (VTT) on the backplane. If a VTT module fails, a slight alarm occurs. If two fail, there will be a major alarm, and the right thing to do is to shut down the system.

5. Conclusion:

In the backplane of the 6509 chassis, the VTT2 voltage terminal module is abnormal, and now there are still two VTT modules in the system. If another VTT voltage terminal module is abnormal, it will cause the system to give a serious alarm. If the situation is serious, it may cause the whole 6509 to stop working.

A 6509 can only bear a maximum of 2 VTT module exceptions.
