1. Oracle 11g installation

Determine your computer configuration before installation. Take windows as an example. If it is a system below win7, such as xp, you can choose Oracle 10g. Because 10g program files are only more than 200 megabytes, while 11g and reached 2G, the official download path of specific files can no longer be found, so we can only go to some software download platforms to download. If it is win7, it is best to use 11g, otherwise 10g is likely to be incompatible and the installation is not successful. This article takes win7 as an example.

The official download address of Oracle 11g is as follows:

To download, you first need to agree to the agreement, that is, select the "Accept License Agreement" option.

Then select the Oracle version and the corresponding operating system, select the 11g windows 64-bit system, and download the two installation files of File1 and File2 (we need to register an account on the Oracle official website and activate it in the mailbox):

After the download is completed, extract the two files respectively, pay attention! Be sure to merge the extracted two folders into one! Otherwise, there will be a prompt for missing files during installation! You can cut smaller files into larger files, prompt whether to overwrite, and choose yes, because only the folder name is the same and the content is different.

Open the folder and double-click setup.exe to start the installation. in general, you only need to install according to the default option, and the program will automatically select a disk with large space for installation. If you want to specify your own installation directory, you need to set the Oracle base directory in step 4 "typical installation", and other directory locations will be automatically configured according to that location.

It is also important to note that after the seventh step "install the product" is completed, there is a password management option that recommends unlocking the scott account and setting the password. The scott account is specially provided by Oracle for learners and contains many exercise sheets. Many Oracle primers use the following table as an example. To unlock the account, you only need to uncheck the check box whether to lock the user bar.

If the scott account is not unlocked in this step, you can also use the SQL*Plus tool that comes with Oracle to unlock it after the installation is complete. Click the start menu and find the Oracle program in all programs. There is an "Application Development" folder under which the SQL*Plus tool is located. Click the Open tool, enter system in the user name and press Enter to confirm, and then you need to enter the password, which is the password you set when you installed Oracle. Be careful! No characters are displayed on the screen when you enter the password, just enter it correctly and click Enter to log in. If this is not convenient, you can also enter the password directly when entering the user name, just add "/" after the system and then enter the password, such as system/abc123456.

After logging in, enter the "alter user scott account unlock;" command to unlock the scott account. After unlocking, you need to set a password for the Scott account. You can enter the "alter user scott identified by tiger;" command to change the scott password to Scott, and then you can log in through Scott!

II. Uninstall Oracle 11g

If unfortunately you do not extract the files or do not put them in the same directory resulting in installation failure, then you need to uninstall Oracle and reinstall. There is no uninstall option for Oracle itself. Deleting a folder directly will prompt you that it is in use and cannot be deleted. We can delete the registry or use the uninstall file that comes with Oracle 11g to uninstall.

Method 1: use Oracle 11g to uninstall files that come with it.

Use win+R to open the Dos run window (or enter cmd.exe in the search to open the conversation window), and run the deinstall.bat file in the Oracle installation directory, such as:

D:\ app\ Administrator\ product\ 11.2.0\ dbhome_1\ deintall\ deinstall.bat

D: is the installation disk of Oracle, and app\ Administrator is the installation directory of Oracle by default. If you customize the installation directory, you need to change this to the real path, followed by the detailed path of the deinstall.bat file, and then press the prompts to uninstall Enter step by step.

Method 2: delete the registry and uninstall

1. Close all the services of oracle, right-click "my computer-- > Administration-- > Services and applications-- > Services", find the service item of Oracle in the list of services on the right, and select it on the left side to stop the service.

2. Run regedit in Dos to open the registry and open the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\

Delete the file with Oracle under it, and then find the following path under the same path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Services\ Eventlog\ Application

Delete the project with Oracle and open the path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\

Locate the Oracle directory and delete it

3. Right-click "my computer-- > Properties-- > Advanced-- > Environment variable-- > PATH variable" to delete the Oracle content in this value.

Note: a bunch of operating system directories are recorded in path. If you use a semicolon (;) to separate the directories in windows, be careful when deleting them.

Suggestion: when deleting the value of Oracle in the PATH environment variable, copy all the value into the text editor, find the corresponding Oracle value, delete it, then copy the modified string and paste it into the PATH environment variable, which is relatively safe.

4. Restart the computer, delete the installation files, the residual files in disk C and the residual files in the start menu, and complete the uninstallation.
