When we run a virtual machine in VMware14 to build an experimental environment, we need to connect and communicate with our host or another virtual machine. Let's take a look at how to establish communication to realize the interconnection between virtual machine and host, virtual machine and virtual machine.

Preparation environment: a host with VMware14 installed and a virtual machine installed in VMware14. Both the virtual machine and host use win10 system here [(VMware14 installation method connection: https://blog.51cto.com/14473285/2424605) Win10 Enterprise Edition download link: https://pan.baidu.com/s/1EuAQ9RfJ_bThggXwtaG24A extraction code: 2u80) (win10 activation software download link: https://pan.baidu.com/s/19ryTFUxJ162kpjFe3HNkiQ extraction code: zuva)]

1. Open vmware to run the installed virtual machine, click the network adapter button in the lower right corner, and click Settings, as shown below:

Open the virtual machine settings, select "Host only Mode" for "Network Adapter", and click "OK", as shown in the figure:

Open the virtual machine "Network and sharing Center" (right-click the desktop network icon, click Properties), and click "change Adapter Settings" to open the network connection, as shown in the figure:

4. Right-click "Ethernet0" after opening "Network connection", click "Properties" to open properties, and double-click "IPV4", as shown in the figure:

Open "IPV4", select "use the following IP address", set the IP address (the IP address can be set by yourself, and click the "subnet mask" input box to automatically jump out of the subnet mask), and click "OK", as shown in the figure:

6. After setting the IP address, close the open program, go to the desktop, enter "cmd" in "search for Wed and Windows" in the lower left corner, and call out "Command prompt", as shown in the figure:

7. Enter the "ipconfig" command in the "Command prompt" to view the current IP address (the current IP address is the IP address just set in our IPV4), as shown in the figure:

8. After the virtual machine IP address is set, return to the host, open the host "Network and sharing Center" (right-click the desktop network icon in the same way as the virtual machine, click the properties), click "change Adapter Settings" to enter "Network connection" and find that "Network connection" has two more network card icons "VMware Network Adapter VMnet1" and "VMware Network Adapter VMnet8". If we want to realize the communication between the virtual machine and the host, we need to use the network card "VMware Network Adapter VMnet1", right-click "VMware Network Adapter VMnet1", click the property, enter the property setting, and double-click IPV4 (this is the same way we set the IP address in the virtual machine) to set the IP address {Note: this network segment must be in the same network segment as the IP address set by the virtual machine, but the address must not be the same (the first three parts filled in the first three parts and the first three parts of the virtual machine IP address must be the same. In the fourth part, you can enter any one of the numbers in 1room254, which is not the same as the fourth part of the virtual machine. If you enter the same IP, it will cause IP conflict} as shown in the figure:

9. After setting the IP address, close the open program and return to the desktop. At this time, our host and the virtual machine are in the same network segment. Theoretically, the host and the virtual machine can communicate. We can use the host startup command prompt to enter "ping+ is the virtual machine IP address" to test communication, as shown in the figure:

10. At this time, we found that the signal sent by the test was sent, but did not return to receive, sent, but lost. At this time, we have to check whether our virtual machine firewall setting is turned off. If the firewall is on, we can turn it off. (turn off firewall: open virtual machine-control panel-system and security-Windows firewall-enable or close Windows firewall-choose to turn off-OK) As shown in the figure:

11. After the firewall is turned off, we test the communication on the host machine (cmd-ping+ the virtual machine IP address in the same way as above). At this time, we find that all the signals we send are returned and received, so we have successfully completed the communication between the virtual machine and the host, as shown in the figure:
