Huawei USG Firewall recovery password steps

This document is used to introduce the recovery of passwords while retaining the original configuration of the firewall, taking USG 6330 V100R001C20SPC as an example

Restart the firewall when "Press Ctrl+B to enter main menu..." appears When prompted by Ctrl+B;, the system will ask for a password, which defaults to O&m15213

After entering the password, we will go to the main menu; if we do not need to keep the firewall configuration, we can choose 6 to restore the default value, then press 1 to confirm recovery, and then press 1 to start the system, so that the firewall will directly restart and restore the default value.

But this time we need to save the original configuration, so choose 2 to modify the startup program and configuration.

Select 1 to confirm the modification of the configuration

Start the program to keep the default, just press enter.

Then follow the prompts to enter "." at selecting the startup configuration file. Number, enter, to start from the default value.

After returning to the main interface, we type 1 again to let the system start according to the settings we just set up.

The system will then restart according to the factory default value, and after the boot is successful. We first configure the network port of the computer to obtain automatically and connect to the MGMT port of the firewall. After obtaining the address, log in to the system with https://192.168.0.1:8443. The account defaults to admin and the password defaults to Admin@123. After logging in successfully, follow the system prompts to change the password of admin, the new password must meet the password security requirements, require case, special symbols, and numbers, and the length should be greater than or equal to 8 digits.

After logging in to the system, we launch a quick wizard; click "system"-"profile Management"-"next launch profile", check the previous configuration file, and click "download".

After the configuration file is downloaded (here we can read out the previous configuration), we log in to the device from the console port again, copy the command to change the admin password (ciphertext), and type:

System-view

Aaa

Display this finds the same password under manager-useradmin and copies it. The password corresponding to this line is the password we configured when we first initialized the configuration.

After the new password corresponding to admin is copied, we open the newly downloaded configuration file in text mode (no need to decompress it). In aaa mode, replace the line password under manager-useradmin, and save the configuration.

After the configuration modification is complete, we go back to the configuration interface. Let's delete the original vrpcfg.zip file first. Then upload our modified configuration file and click on the icon in the small light bulb to set the configuration file to take effect next time.

After the setup is complete, we restart the device; click "configure"-"system restart"-"restart" (be sure to click restart here instead of saving and restarting); after the restart is complete, we can log in to the device with a new password and save the original configuration.
