Office 36Microsoft provides OneDrive for Business functions to facilitate data synchronization between cloud data and local Location. Similarly, SharePoint Server 2016 On Premise, Microsoft provides similar functions, but requires users to install OneDrive for Business synchronization client tools independently.

If some people have installed the OneDrive for Business client in SharePoint 2013, they may think that the OneDrive for Business client of SharePoint 2016 will also so easy. In fact, SharePoint 2013, just download the OneDrive for Business installation package linked below and click to install it:

However, SharePoint 2016 is much more complex, and the steps are as follows:

You need to download Installonedriveforbusiness.diagcab for custom installation of Office 2016 before you can extract OneDrive for Business

After the installation is successful, you also need to download the Office 2016 deployment tool from the Microsoft website and save the file to your desktop

Double-click "OfficeDeploymentTool.exe" on the desktop and the following files will appear on the desktop:

Setup.exe

Configuration.xml

4. Create a file named AddODB.txt and add the following text to the AddODB.txt to save.

Note:

This file will install the 32-bit English version of OneDrive for Business. If you must have a 64-bit version, change the second line of the text, OfficeClientEdition= "64".

If you need other languages, change the text Language ID= "en-us" to the Microsoft website: language identifiers look for placeholders in the language

5. Open the cmd command prompt as an administrator, enter cd c:\, and change to the root directory of disk C, as shown in the figure:

6. Enter cd C:\ Users\ Administrator\ Desktop, and the path points to the desktop, as shown below:

7. Enter setup.exe / configure AddODB.txt, enter, and install it silently in the background. The installation needs to ensure that the Internet link is normal.

Note: after the installation is complete, a new command line appears at the command prompt.

8. After the installation is successful, the OneDrive for Business client will be found in the system search, as shown in the following figure:

9. Click OneDrive for Business, enter SharePoint web Site URL and Location, and click "synchronize now", as shown in the following figure:
