Yesterday we prepared to complete the prerequisites for Exchange Server 2016. Today let's take a look at how to deploy Exchange Server 2016.

After thinking about it recently, I decided to use two ways to deploy Exchange Server 2016, which may give you a better understanding of the deployment of Exchange Server 2016.

Graphical interface deployment

1. First, let's open the Exchange Server 2016 installation media and double-click the "Setup.exe" file

2. In the "whether to check for updates" interface, you can choose according to the actual needs.

3. Click "next" directly in the introduction interface.

4. According to the screenshot, select the license agreement interface and click "next".

5. Similarly, it is recommended that the interface be set up according to your own needs.

6. Select the role of "MailBox" according to the screenshot of the role interface.

To highlight, Microsoft's Exchange Server 2010 version (including 2010) had five roles, and all five roles could be deployed separately. After Exchange Server 2013, it became three roles, the original UM role was cancelled, and the HUB role and CAS role merged into CAS. However, after Exchange Server 2016, the three roles of Ex2013 have merged again and become the two roles they are now: the MailBox role and the Eage role.

7. Choose the installation location. It is strongly not recommended to install Exchange Server to the system disk. It is recommended to install it to a drive letter other than the non-system disk.

8. Malware is actually not very useful. To tell you the truth, the effect is a little poor. According to the actual needs, I will not use it.

9. The next step is a prerequisite check. As shown in the picture, my side has already met the prerequisites, so just click "install".

Unattended installation

There may be some old people who read this title do not quite understand what is unattended installation ah, in fact, Microsoft's so-called unattended installation is what we often call command-line installation.

Here are some examples:

Setup.exe / mode:Install / role:Mailbox / OrganizationName:MyOrg / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command creates an Exchange 2016 organization in an Active Directory named MyOrg, installs the Mailbox server role and administrative tools, and accepts the Exchange 2016 license terms.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / role:Mailbox / TargetDir: "C:\ ExchangeServer" / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Mailbox server role and administrative tools in the "C:\ Exchange Server" directory. This command assumes that the Exchange 2016 organization is ready.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / r:MB / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Mailbox server role and administrative tools in the default installation location.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / r:EdgeTransport / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Edge Transport server role and administrative tools in the default installation location.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / r:ET / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Edge Transport server role and administrative tools in the default installation location.

Setup.exe / mode:Uninstall / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command completely removes Exchange 2016 from the server and removes the Exchange configuration for this server from Active Directory.

Setup.exe / PrepareAD / on: "My Org" / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command creates an Exchange organization named My Org and prepares Exchange 2016 for Active Directory.

Setup.exe / role:Mailbox / UpdatesDir: "C:\ ExchangeServer\ New Patches" / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command updates ExchangeServer.msi with patches in the specified directory, and then installs the Mailbox server role and administrative tools. If this directory contains a language pack, the language pack is also installed.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / role:Mailbox / DomainController:DC01 / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command uses the domain controller DC01 to query and change Active Directory while installing the Mailbox server role and administrative tools.

Setup.exe / mode:Install / role:Mailbox / AnswerFile:c:\ ExchangeConfig.txt / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Mailbox server role using the settings in the ExchangeConfig.txt file.

Setup.exe / rprs:Exchange03 / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command removes the object Exchange03 from Active Directory.

Setup.exe / AddUmLanguagePack:ko-KR / IAcceptExchangeServerLicenseTerms

This command installs the Korean Unified messaging language pack from the% ExchangeSourceDir%\ ServerRoles\ UnifiedMessaging directory.

1. After reading the example, we begin to install. First of all, we open CMD as an administrator, switch to the Exchange installation media path, and enter the command that has been compiled. You can compile and reorganize according to the above example.

Wait about half an hour for the installation to be almost completed.

Welfare section

1. After you have installed this version of Exchange Server 2016 CU8, you may have to select the time zone all the time after opening OWA or ECP. Click Save after the selection is completed, and the following error will be reported

3. However, if you try to use the command to set the time zone for this user, the error will be reported when you open it.

In fact, this problem is a small problem for Microsoft, and it takes 12-24 hours to use it properly. Every small version of Exchange Server 2016 will have some problems, so I really doubt the test team of Exchange Server 2016.
