Shulou(Shulou.com)06/01 Report--
This article will explain in detail how to use Glyphr and how to modify Linux fonts. The editor thinks it is very practical, so I share it for you as a reference. I hope you can get something after reading this article.
LibreOffice provides a wealth of fonts, and users are free to choose and download to add their own fonts. However, even if you want to create your own fonts, you can easily use Glyphr to do so. Glyphr is a new open source vector font designer that can complete all aspects of font design through an intuitive and easy-to-use graphical interface and a rich feature set. Although the application is still in the early stages of development, it is already great. Here is a brief quick start on how to create fonts using Glyphr and add them to LibreOffice.
First, download Glyphr from the official Git library. It provides 32-bit and 64-bit versions of binary formats. After the download is completed, enter the download folder, extract the file, enter the extracted folder, right-click Glyphr Studio, and select "Run".
You will be given three options when you start the app. One is to create a new font set from scratch; the second is to read existing items, which can be Glyphr Studio project files, other OpenType fonts (otf) or TrueType fonts (ttf), or even SVG fonts. The third is to read one of the two existing examples, and then modify the creation on the example. I will choose the first option and teach you some simple design concepts.
After entering the editing interface, you can select letters from the panel on the left side of the screen and design in the drawing area on the right. I chose the icon of the letter A to start editing it.
To design something on the drawing board, we can select a rectangular, oval, or path equivalent shape tool from the upper-left corner of the board, or we can use the path editing tool for the first item in the second row of the tool. Using any tool, start placing path points on the board to create a shape. The more points you add, the more shape options you will have for the next step.
Move the point to a different location to get a different path, you can use the path editing on the right side of the path editing tool, click on the shape to appear editable point. Then you can drag these points to any location you like.
Finally, the shape editing tool allows you to select a shape and drag it to another location, resize it, and rotate it.
