When using vmwareworkstation software to create a virtual machine, the CPU1 core is sufficient. If the operating system above centos7 has a graphical interface, it is recommended to use more than 1G.

There are three modes for network adapters when creating Linux virtual machines in 1.1:vmware workstation

1: bridge mode: in this mode, the virtual machine running in the VMwareworkstation and the local PC are in the same network segment, just like connecting two PC under the same switch. When the network of the local PC changes, the network of the virtual machine will fail.

2:NAT mode; in this mode, the VMworkstation software can be regarded as a router, the network of the virtual machine itself is a private network, the network of the local PC can be regarded as an interface of the Internet, and the network of the local PC is used through the VM software. The advantage of this model is that no matter how the local PC network changes, the network of the virtual machine itself will not change.

3: host-only mode: in this mode, the relationship between the virtual machine and the local PC is similar to the connection between the two PC through the network cable, and the virtual machine and the local PC can communicate with each other. In this mode, the change in the network of PC will not affect the virtual machine.

2.1 after creating a virtual machine, click to edit the virtual machine to change the size of the virtual machine. For example, the memory of 2G can be changed to 1G. The speed of installing the operating system is determined by the configuration of the hardware. Therefore, we can increase the configuration when installing the system and reduce the configuration after installation.

2.2 choose Install to install the centos7.3 operating system. The trouble shoot option can be used to troubleshoot virtual machines, which is not needed by beginners.

2.3 then select language, keyboard, software, installation media, installation location, network, security and other settings

The installation location selects the 30G disk assigned to the virtual machine, and you can select automatic partition and custom partition when selecting disk partition. After selecting a custom partition, you can choose the disk mode, including standard partition, LVM partition and other partition methods. The idea of LVM partition is to virtualize all disks into logical disks, so that it is convenient to expand and reduce the capacity of the logical disk.

2.4.Click the + number in the lower left corner to partition the disk. First, / boot mount point, allocate 200MB is sufficient (it will be prompted to be less than the minimum value of normal installation of centos), and then / swap mount point. Swap partition is a swap partition, which places some unused data in memory in this partition when memory space is insufficient. It is recommended to allocate 2 times the size of memory. If the memory is above 4G, you can allocate 8G swap partition. All the remaining space is allocated to the mount point.

When installing the operating system, you will be prompted to set the root password and the new user. If the root password is set, the complexity is as high as possible. If the complexity is low, you will be prompted to let the point complete confirmation twice. After installing the operating system, you need to restart and reboot into the operating system.
