Smartphone makers are bolder and less risky in adopting unconventional designs and features than their larger peers. However, Huawei has been playing in the major leagues and missed the adventure most of the time. Fortunately, its sub-brand Honor is very willing to use the Honor Magic 2 slider, and now it has launched the Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro to meet the market demand, which is its first foray into the pop-up camera field.

The pop-up camera design originally used by Vivo, OPPO and other companies began to develop to other manufacturers. However, Honor and Xiaomi chose the slider design, but now Honor is experimenting with a pop-up camera. Like its Magic 2 slider, the Honor 9X Honor 9X Pro is designed to provide a full-view screen with no notches or holes.

While other phones using this design show the seamless beauty of the front end, the Honor 9X also has an eye-catching back design and X-shaped 3D gradients, which clearly marks its brand. However, this is not all appearance, because this pop-up camera has a 16 million pixel sensor.

Both models of the Glory 9X use a mid-range Kirin 810 processor. Glory 9X gets 406 GB of RAM, while 9X Pro gets more than 8 GB of memory. However, this is not the only difference between them. Both start with a powerful 480000-pixel camera and are assisted by a 2000-pixel depth sensor, but the PRO model adds a 8000-pixel wide-angle camera, making it three.

The Honor 9X starts at 1399 yuan ($203), while the 9X Pro starts at 2199 yuan ($316). The difference between Honor 9X and its predecessors is that it will be launched internationally, although Honor is still shy about these details.
