One of the advantages of open source platforms such as Android is that anyone only needs enough power and time to run on any device. Although the Android system can run on x86 architecture processors, it is not easy to run successfully on consumer computers. That's why the Android-x86 project was founded, and the project team recently launched PrimeOS to bring a better desktop experience to laptops and PC, especially old devices with low performance.

The Android version provided by the Android-x86 project already allows users to write it to a USB device (or an old storage medium such as CD/DVD) and install it on any old x86/x64 computer. However, because it is very close to AOSP, the user experience is not optimized for the desktop environment.

PrimeOS launched today not only provides a pure Android experience, but also makes many optimizations for the desktop environment to provide a "real" desktop experience. Such as the introduction of the start menu, the taskbar, and most windows have minimize, maximize and close buttons. In addition, shortcuts such as Alt+Tab, Alt+F4 and Win+D are supported.

PrimeOS also provides some features specifically for running Android games on the desktop. These include Decapro key mapping and fake GPU, which allow users to play mobile games such as PUBG. Natural game performance depends on the hardware specification configuration of the PC.

PrimeOS is still in Beta status, and interested users can download it for free. Currently, the developer has not mentioned whether it will become a paid version in the future. There are still some problems with some PC, especially the trackpad, audio, and WiFi.
