Shulou(Shulou.com)06/02 Report--
/ 1 Overview /
Oracle, the hegemon of traditional enterprise software, always seems to be hesitant and hesitant about the cloud. However, recent events can feel that Oracle has felt the great threat of the cloud and its firm determination in the cloud strategy. In the world of the cloud, Oracle is still a small player. Oracle cloud is estimated to be a very small minority in China, and not many people should know about it. Because of my work, I am fortunate to have a more comprehensive contact with Oracle cloud and talk about those things about Oracle cloud according to my real feelings.
/ 2 what is the experience of Oracle cloud database? /
As a heavyweight product of Oracle, database also maintains its important position in the cloud. So what's the experience of creating a database on the Oracle cloud? In fact, according to the author's actual operation and experience, it is very easy to create a database on the Oracle cloud!
The first step is to log in to the Oracle cloud and enter the cloud console.
From the list on the console, you can see that the services provided by the Oracle cloud are still very comprehensive. Database has a separate service content, which includes Bare Metal,VM,and Exadata, Autonomous Data Warehouse and Autonomous Transaction Processing. Here we choose Bare Metal,VM,and Exadata. In fact, we can guess what it is from the name.
Enter
Go to the console of the database
This is empty because no database has been created, so let's create one now. Before you create a database, there is one more thing you need to do:
Generate a public-private key pair, because the author's work machine is Ubuntu, so use ssh-keygen to generate. Windows can also use PuTTY Key Generator. Then click Launch DB System to enter the process of creating a database. The whole process of creating the database is done in this not-so-long page that pops up.
The first piece of content that needs to be filled in is the name, which is the name displayed during page management. Then there is the available domain and type, the number of nodes and the capacity of the database, and the license type.
Next, we need to use the public key file we created earlier.
This public and private key is used for connections, which will be discussed later.
Then configure the network.
Next, configure some information about the database, including database name, version, character set, etc.
And then... that's it. Create it.
The administration page shows that the database is being created, and wait about an hour or so before the database is created.
Get the public network IP information of the database on the management page, and log in to the database server with the private key created earlier. For example, we use SecureCRT to configure a connection here.
The user name is opc, so we can connect to the database server we just created!
Through the sudo su-oracle command to switch to the oracle user, you can successfully connect to the database we just created, showing version 18.5!
/ 3 Summary /
It's so easy to create a database on the Oracle cloud. In fact, the cloud can help you do more, such as high availability, such as backup, such as RAC, which we'll talk about later.
