In a blog post by Sang An, vice president and general manager for North America, the company announced that the South Korean tech giant will launch new products in the coming weeks. The debit card will be launched in partnership with a US-based online personal finance company and will be backed by a cash management account.

The company doesn't disclose much about the debit card at this time, but does say it was developed over a year using a "mobile-first money management platform" approach designed to allow consumers to better manage their daily money. The announcement comes on the fifth anniversary of Samsung's payroll.

During that time, the platform has been used for billions of transactions, earning more than 13 billion Samsung Rewards Points and gaining more claims against the company. "In 2020, Samsung Pay will expand our services from a valuable way to shop and pay to a valuable way to manage finances. Over the past year, we have been busy developing the first mobile currency management platform. Our vision is to help consumers better manage their money so they can achieve their dreams and goals.

Mobile financial services and money management tools will now play a greater role in our daily lives while opening up new possibilities,"Samsung said. For those of you who don't know, just last month it was reported that Internet search giant Google was also developing debit cards.

The company is said to be developing physical and virtual debit cards that will be used in conjunction with different banks such as Citigroup or Stanford Federal Credit Union. Although Google officials have not disclosed any information about the development of the product, support for the so-called Google Card appears on Google Chrome.
