In windows 10, you can create two, three, or more virtual desktops and fill each desktop with different applications and windows. One desktop may contain all open Microsoft Office applications; another may contain your Adobe application and the third may contain miscellaneous applications. You can create one virtual desktop after another, move applications from one desktop to another, and delete desktops when they are no longer needed. Let's look at a scenario to see how virtual desktops provide services.

You can open an email to start a new day. You open other applications, such as File Explorer, browser, Microsoft Word,Microsoft Excel,iTunes to listen to music, and Skype may receive video calls. Now you need to open the Adobe application to work on print or design projects that require Photoshop,InDesign and Acrobat, but you don't want to add more applications to the growing desktop; instead, create a second virtual desktop to hold them. To do this, click the Task View button on the taskbar next to the Cortana control. At the top of the window, click the New Desktop option (figure A).

Click the Task View button to switch back and forth between Desktop 1 and Desktop 2. If your application needs a third virtual desktop, click the Task View button, and then click the entry for the new desktop (figure D). You can then populate Desktop 3 with other applications.

Maybe you've spread similar applications across different desktops. For example, you have several Microsoft Office applications open on different desktops, and now you want to move them all to the same desktop-no problem. Click the Task View button, and then move to the desktop that contains the application you want to move. Right-click the thumbnail of the application, move the cursor to the move to entry in the menu, and select the desktop to which you want to move the application (figure E).

Continue to move applications to different desktops until you organize virtual desktops in a way that makes sense to you. If you no longer need any applications on a desktop, or if the desktop is now empty, click the Task View button, and then click X on the desktop thumbnail to close it (figure F).

When you have finished all open applications and saved all your work, close each remaining virtual desktop and close Windows as usual.
