The company also plans to provide more pricing points in the future. It plans to provide content creators with up to 20 pricing points so that they can adjust flexibly.

As reported last week, Spotify has officially announced a paid podcast subscription. The new features are currently only available in the United States, as well as a few selected podcasts on the platform. As time goes by, it will gradually expand to everyone.

It should be noted that Spotify provides paid podcast subscriptions through Anchor. This means that users will not be able to subscribe to paid podcasts from the main application. They must complete all the formalities by clicking the "subscribe" link, which will take them to the Anchor page. This is done to ensure that the company does not have to pay any fees to Apple, which is why you cannot subscribe to the application's advanced plan directly from the application.

All content creators will retain all revenue from paid subscriptions until 2023. They only need to pay a nominal transaction fee to Stripe, Spotify's payment processing partner. Two years later, the company said it would only take a 5% commission from its creators, which is much lower than Apple's 15% to 30% commission. As for subscription prices, buyers can choose from plans of $2.99, $4.99 and $7.99 a month.

Although paid podcasts are only available for some podcasts, all other creators can now choose to join the waiting list. These subscriptions also do not affect the free managed usage of Anchor. If you are the one who offers a quality podcast elsewhere but also wants to provide it through Spotify, you must also host the podcast on Anchor. Finally, all podcasts owned by Spotify will not pay for it for the time being.
