How to use U-boot of WRTnode

Note: because of the special definition of gpio1 and gpio2 in uboot, we should not touch these two pins when using the WRTnode core board.

Features: support web page refresh firmware and uboot; support U disk boot; baud rate is 115200.

Tools: WRTnode, a power cord; a network cable connected to WRTnode, a short cable (such as DuPont cable) (used when flashing firmware or uboot); USB disk (used when booting the kernel from USB disk)

Note: if it is a flash drive to start our power cord, we need to use a three-head usb cable, which can provide a port to connect the USB disk.

Operation procedure:

Start kernel from flash

If you power up the WRTnode without plugging in a USB disk with a kernel image and without grounding gpio1 or gpio2, WRTnode will choose to boot the kernel from flash.

Start kernel from a flash drive

The priority of booting WRTnode U-Boot U disk is higher than booting from flash. WRTnode U-Boot detects whether there is a U disk (or SD card), and then detects whether U disk has uimage. If so, boot from U disk, if not, boot from flash.

Before powering up the WRTnode, connect the LAN port of the WRTnode to the PC port with a network cable, and ground the gpio1 or gpio2 with a short wire (see [pin definition]).

Open the network connection and manually set the ip address of the 192.168.1.x network segment. Power up the WRTnode, then open the cmd window on the PC side, and enter: ping 192.168.1.1-t

See a response from 192.168.1.1:

Check the print information through the serial port until it appears as shown in the following figure to stop the short connection of gpio.

Enter http://192.168.1.1/ in the PC browser to enter WEB update mode.

Select the new firmware you want to brush and click upload; the only LED on WRTNode can indicate the current working status flash: firmware verification error, is about to enter WEB update mode; slow flash: is refreshing firmware (if you observe carefully enough, you will find that slow flash is divided into two stages, the first stage frequency is slightly slower, indicating that the flash is being erased, and the second stage frequency is slightly faster, indicating that data are being written to flash).

Click UBoot on the file to enter the refresh uboot interface
